On days 21, 22 and May 23, the Algarve International Circuit (AIA) will receive for the second consecutive year, the Superstars Series. This is a competition that attracts spectators from around the world for competitiveness and diversity of machinery on track.

At least 185 flights were canceled in Portugal on Friday due to a volcanic eruption in Iceland which produced an ash cloud over Europe, the country's airports office said.

Portela airport in the capital had the most cancellations, affecting 77 flights, including 40 departures and 37 arrivals, the office said in a statement.

Volcanic ash from the Icelandic eruption has begun to fall across the country, coating surfaces with a fine layer of dust and raising fears over the danger posed to people with breathing difficulties.
